ISSI Makes Waves at 2020 Atlanta ARMA Conference

Tuesday, March 31, 2020

ISSI joined the Atlanta Chapter of ARMA International’s most recent annual conference to present a workshop on the latest records and information management (RIM) technology.

ARMA International provides educational resources, certifications, and networking opportunities for Information Governance professionals. Each year, the Atlanta chapter hosts a conference to highlight the latest advancements in RIM technology.

ISSI has a long-standing relationship with ARMA and returned to the conference in February to highlight the best practices for electronic capture, process, and search.

Drawing a parallel between the leisurely pastime of fishing and the not-so-leisurely task of records management, ISSI’s conference presentation covered three key topics around document “catch and release.”

Business Functions

From budgeting to strategic planning, records managers must navigate a rising tide of documents and legal requirements.

Think of your business data as fish in the ocean. Capturing these fish requires you to first identify the type (Do you have bass? Trout? Catfish?). You can then implement process automation – or what you might think of as hands-free fishing. Lastly, use federated search to find where the best fish are hiding, and to more quickly sort through the fish you have.

A live response poll that we conducted at the conference showed just 46% of participants reported managing their records in a digital format. Many of them were still use paper filing and scanning methods to process and store physical documents, the poll revealed.

However, with the variety of electronic content management (ECM) solutions available today, businesses can capture:

  • Paper documents
  • Email
  • Forms
  • Databases
  • And more

Once captured, ISSI can help you to classify, index, extract, and redact the documents with our suite of document management solutions.

Process Automation

Reading and forwarding emails, conducting reports, classifying documents, and other manual business processes drain time and resources away from your key employees.

But they don’t have to. Relieve your workers of repetitive, rules-based tasks and free their time for more pressing matters with business process automation, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
